Sarah Rogers

Project Manager

Sarah Rogers is a sophomore at Arizona State University studying Aerospace Engineering with a concentration in Astronautics. Sarah's duties as project manager of the Phoenix Satellite Initiative include overseeing the developments of the Phoenix team in the areas of engineering, science, outreach, and design, as well as coordinating efforts with industry personnel and the ASU community to ensure the initiative makes a lasting impact on the future.

Anthony McCourt

Outreach Coordinator

Anthony McCourt is a Junior studying Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Astronautics at Arizona State University. Anthony is the Outreach Coordinator for the Phoenix Satellite Initiative. Anthony also performs research on campus through the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative and is an Engineering Peer Mentor at Barrett, the Honors College. He hopes one day to be a part of NASA and help bring mankind deeper into space. He also aims to one day, officially be able to support the claim that, “No, it is not rocket science.

Judd Bowman

Faculty Project Investigator

Dr. Judd Bowman is an associate professor in the ASU school of Space and Earth Exploration. Dr. Bowman is in charge of leading the students of the Phoenix Satellite Initiative. Dr. Bowman was responsible for developing the overall Phoenix project and is the team’s main point of contact with NASA. Dr. Bowman has established experience with research in cosmology, galaxies, and black holes.

Jaime Sanchez de la Vega

Chief Engineer

Jaime Antonio Sanchez de la Vega is a third-year Aerospace Engineering student at the Arizona State University. Jaime, an international student from Mexico, currently leads the engineering design and development for the Phoenix Satellite Initiative. Jaime is the current president of the Sun Devil Satellite Laboratory, the undergraduate student organization at ASU dedicated to the development of spacecraft technologies responsible for the Phoenix CubeSat. Jaime aspires to advance the exploration of the solar system and beyond.
